Class A, one of the UKs
favourite bands have split up. Class A has split up after four very successful
years together. In their time together they sold over 800,000 singles, 200,000
albums and over 55 million hits on Youtube to their credit.
The split came about
after lead singer Paul and guitarist Bob were reported to be arguing outside a
London bar last month. After cancelling a small private gig in London last
month there was much speculation about the band staying together but the news
was still a shock when they officially announced that they have split last
week.
Class A has shared the
stage with many big names such as Coldplay, the killer and more recently take
that. They have also had the pleasure of making track with Jay Z and Florence
and the machine. With a CV like that it’s no wonder they were one of the UKs
favourite bands.
Class A first met when
they were 15 and after a couple of years as a school band they started getting
serious preforming in pubs in their local town of Consett. It was while
preforming a Friday night gig that they were spotted by Mark right who spotted
their potential and took them under his wing. With the help of Mark right they
started doing local gigs which created a reputation which quickly spread.
Then after six months of
doing small, local gigs they finally hit big when they got a chance to open for
the survivors at the Q festival back in 2009. After being wowed the crown
demanded an encore and they didn’t disappoint giving the crowd another stand up
set. After the gig Mark Wight said that the boys really did good and in his
eyes out preformed the survivors.
After the Q festival
they were in the big time preforming at the cherry tree festival and the golden
skies festival as well as releasing there first album “Unemployed”. After such
a busy year in 2009 the boys didn’t slow down for 2010, they did their first
tour of the UK and released their second album “White Parade” containing the
no.1 single “Ugly Paradise” which topped the charts.
2011 saw Class A become
bigger than ever releasing their third album “Midnight Rock” which featured the
song “What we’ve done” which topped the UK charts for four weeks in a row. They
also performed at the cherry tree festival, they head lined at the Q festival
and completed their second UK tour. But the end of 2011 saw the beginning of
the end with the boys arguing outside a London bar and cancelling a private
gig.
Then the beginning of
2012 brought the end of Class A with the news that they had split, one of the
UKs most loved bands, selling over 800,000 singles and 200,000 albums is no
more.
